Sammy

Sammy with his new adopted "mom". (on leash too) What a happy ending! |
Sammy is a big boy,
beautiful Yellow Lab/German Shepherd mix. He is about 11 months old, has a very calm way about
him, not hyper at all. However, he has apparently been abused, and is
very leery of a leash. Rescue is working with him now. If you
have time and patience for him, you will be rewarded with the devotion he
shows in his eyes.
This boy needs a home, he's so lonely.

Just a quick update on Sammy - AKA "Rocket Man"
and "Sam the Man" - I call him Rocket Man because he is getting so fast
running with Dutch and Sam the Man because sometimes he sits there with his
head cocked to one side just looking at me -- wonder what is going through
that big head of his. Everything is going great! Sammy has been in for his
heartworm bloodwork so that I was able to get him started on the Revolution
for heartworm/fleas, and Sunday he saw our regular vet, Michael, for the
start of his other vaccinations. Since we were not really sure if he had
the first series, we are starting them all over just to be safe. Michael
thought he was one good looking guy and was pleased with Sammy's condition.
He said he had some unspoken misgivings when I originally told him I was
going to get Sammy and how I had found him on the Internet but he gave him a
great thumbs up when he examined him. Sammy and Dutch are getting along
fine. We have gotten past the getting into the car problem and are on our
way to working into the water fun. Sammy ventured part way into the wading
pool with Dutch today so hopefully it won't be much longer until he feels
comfortable enough to just jump in. I just came in from mowing the lawn and
they have been out with me most of the day just running and playing. I have
found that Sammy loves balls and toys so they both have a great time
and thankfully share everything. They have tired themselves out and are now
crashed on the sofa so its a nice quiet time right now. Hope all is well
with you and that some of your other doggies have found forever homes. Will
keep you updated - Rae |
