This cute boy is named Toby. He's very sweet, and isn't as big as he looks in
his photos - he only weighs 26 pounds. He's sitting by a
gallon of milk so you can see his
|
size. Toby's foster reports that he learns very
rapidly. He know how to use the dog door into the shop, and
then a wall flap into the fenced yard. The first day, he went
over the 3 foot fence to follow his foster dad who went for coffee,
but ran straight to the dog catcher. The next day, he stayed
in the fence when the morning coffee run took place, and was
rewarded with a cheese treat. Toby is housetrained, and has
learned which pieces of furniture are ok for him to use. Toby does well
on a harness, and is learning not to wrap his leash around things
(legs, trees, etc.). Toby likes to jump up to greet his
humans, but with a little work, he can be taught to stay down - AND
to walk on his hind legs. He's learned to balance for a few
steps already. Toby, the wonder dog in making, will be a great companion.
